What happens when I die?

The topic of what happens after death is a sensitive one. Thomas Jefferson once said that, "the only things that are sure in life are death and taxes." While I won't get into tax legislation here, I will hopefully help you think through the idea of what happens when you die.


Choose or lose

Have you ever watched little kids playing? Isn’t it funny...we don’t have to teach them to be selfish, but we do have to teach them to be selfless. I think if we’re honest with ourselves, even though we’re older not much has changed. We are naturally selfish. Most of the time, we choose the situation that is most beneficial to us and makes us happy.


The pursuit of purpose

Monday night Nick Garvey shared his story and how he has begun to realize his purpose in life. While it isn't fully clear to him, he believes that God has put him on earth for a reason. He believes it is his purpose to be a listening ear and to genuinely love those around him. Take a second this week and think about what you were made for. What do you get the most joy out of doing?


Where did we come from...?

I don't know about you, but there are some questions that always seem to bug me that I don't have the answers to. One of these questions we started talking about Monday night at Campus Life. The question was asked, "Where did we come from?" And more importantly, "Why does it matter?" To get students in the mindset the beginning scene of Expelled featuring Ben Stein was played.

So often in our lives we get caught up in the moment by moment details. Cell phones, IM, and instant access to anything anywhere have made us creatures of the moment. Last night we took an opportunity to pause and look back at the last year of our lives. Many people shared of how they have learned from situations they faced.
